.in class task 1 : looking forward.

assalamualaikum and good day, Dr Izaham.

my name is Nur Farhana Binti Nasri. i live in lembah keramat, kuala lumpur. i was born on 19 january 1987 and i'm the eldest among 5 siblings.i adore my moms cooking and can watch tv endlessly. i can't wait to finish my degree and graduate with flying colors. hopefully :) i would like to further my study in master in any profound university locally or in oversea if im lucky. i wanna be a successful lecturer one day and live a happy life.

regarding the questions you've asked, if i wanna compare my self with other colleagues in terms of computer skills, i would rate myself as a moderate user. honestly,i dont see myself as a person who love to be attached with computer. i find it hard to keep myself alert with technology that is revolving rapidly.

nevertheless, i learn to develop computer skills and technology for my own sake. i have a laptop (that is currently attacked my viruses.sobsob~),a list of computer softwares as what people used to have; word, powerpoint, and publisher which i rarely used unless i was forced and etc. computer hardwares? hmm i have a new speaker, earphone and pendrive. and thats it. i know the fact that computer/technology helps us a lot in daily life, but i dont know what else to do with it other than blogging or facebooking. i tend to get nervous and anxious if my lappy shut down by its own or 'hang'for a few minutes. i'll easily get frustrated and ease the pain by getting rid of it for a few days :)

i have experienced learning via the computer.when i was scheduled to sit for my IELTS exam, i took online exercises such as the listening and reading skills. it was easier and it did help me a lot. the online exercises and experiences from the other candidates assisted me; physically and mentally to prepare for such exam. i also tried to get used with educational sofwares or exercises online as new materials during the practicum semester. the activities and images were interesting. i grabed the opprtunity to integrate online excersises to gain more marks from my supervisor and mentor. and i succeed :)

aware of the importance of technology in language learning and teaching, i decided to incorporate it during one of my literature lessons during the practicum. i borrowed literature softwares done by previous seniors from my supervisor, miss salliza. it was an entertaining lesson. i showed 'the sound machine' movie to the students and assisted them with the exercises. it was a success and i received positive reviews from my mentor as well as the students. the most important thing is the students were having so much fun and have an insight on new ways to learn english creatively.

i strongly believe that computer/technology is a MUST in language teaching.there's no reason to laid back and stick to the traditional method; chalk and talk makes us ngantuk.it helps the future teachers to move steps forward and gain the students interest to love the english language.

the subject seems challenging to me. but i like challenges :) so i cant wait to browse for updated journals, websites and coursewares that will surely help me a lot in future. though im not so keen about technology, but im looking forward to learn new things from you, Dr Izaham :)THANK YOU
